Have followed this thread and many members spoke that the sector has premium travellers and there is no necessity for cheap intercity trains to compete. I have gathered occupancy data of New Delhi Daulatapur Jan Shatabdi which leaves in afternoon. The train has 9 GS sitting reserved 1000 seats approx and 4 ACC 320 seats making a total capacity of 1320. The train is in WL for about a week in both sides and today after chart preparation both are not available. The train has a vacancy of 550 while ACC 197 from Chandigarh to Una means the number travellers who deboarded at Chandigarh. The WL trends showed there is still demand for 2 more GS and another ACC. So the demand for restoration of Himalayan Queen stands justified. Whether it's independent train or extention of Jodhpur exp from Sarai Rohilla or using the rake as independent train...
