A Gem of a Terminal in Chennai !
Anna nagar/ANNG lies in on the central part of the city. This suburban station was opened at 2003 and 5 pairs of suburban trains used to operate from here to
Chennai beach/MSB via Villivakkam. It was closed in 2007 for the construction of the Padi Elevated Rotary. Even after the completion of the rotary in 2009 , the line was cosed due to low patronage. But now , with the need of the decongestion of MAS , a terminal has been planned to be...
more... built at Tondiarpet. My idea is that IR can also use anna nagar to terminate a few weekly trains and one daily train. IR should start some local trains from here :
1) Locals to Gummidipundi - 6 pairs (Morning 3 pairs , Evening / Night 3 pairs)
2)Locals to Chennai Beach - 12 pairs (Morning 5 pairs , Noon 2 pairs , Evening/Night 5 Pairs)
3)Locals to Chennai Central - 9 pairs (Morning 4 pairs , Noon 1 pair , Evening/Night 4 pairs)
4)Locals to Avadi - 6 pairs (Like the 1st pattern)
5)Locals to Arakkonam - 3 pairs ( 2 morning , 1 Evening )
6)Locals to Tiruvallur - 2 pairs (1 morning , 1 evening)
7)Loals to Sullurupeta - 2 pairs(like the above pattern)
8)1 Local to/from Tiruttani.
