near Vidhyasagar Kasitand, approximately 2 kilometers from the incident site. The train involved in the accident was the 12254 Ang Express. A three-member JAG committee has been formed by the railway authorities to investigate the incident. The Jamtara Deputy Commissioner, Shashibhushan Mehra, stated that the Ang Express (12254), travelling from Bhagalpur to Yashwantpur, was passing through the area when the train driver noticed dust and smoke rising near the railway tracks. Mistaking it for a fire, the driver stopped the train, leading passengers to disembark. During this time, two individuals were killed by an EMU train travelling from Asansol to Jhajha on the up track. The railway authorities confirmed that the Ang Express was approximately 2 kilometers away from the incident site, and there was no fire. Following the incident, railway officials, RPF personnel, and local administrative officials reached the site, and the bodies were sent to Jamtara Sadar Hospital. Following the incident, a three-member committee was constituted to investigate the incident. A search operation was conducted in the surrounding area but no further casualties were found. PM Modi expressed condolences for the deceased and wished for the injured to recover soon. The Jamtara MLA has also expressed condolences and announced that he is headed to the site to investigate the incident further.

Jamtara Deputy Commissioner, Shashibhushan Mehra ne bataya ki Bhagalpur se Yashwantpur jaane wali Ang Express (12254), jab us area se guzar rahi thi tab train driver ne railway tracks ke paas dust aur dhuwan uthta dekha. Isko fire samajh kar driver ne train rok di aur passengers utar gaye. Is waqt Asansol se Jhajha jaane wali EMU train ne up track pe jaate hue do logon ko maara. Railways ne bataya ki Ang Express incident site se do kilometer door thi aur koi bhi fire nahi hui thi. Incident ke baad railway officials, RPF personnel, aur local administrative officials site pe pahunche aur bodies ko Jamtara Sadar Hospital bhej diya gaya. Incident ke baad jaanch ke liye teen members ki committee banayi gayi. Aas paas ke area mein search operation chalaaya gaya lekin koi aur casualty nahin mila.
